If someone had told me 10 years ago I would quit an amazing corporate job as a graphic designer to pursue my passion for modern quilting, I would have laughed. And laughed. And laughed. Sewing, let alone quilting, was not an interest of mine. At all. My mom, bless her heart, tried to get me to sew a few projects, but again, I could have cared less. But 5 years ago I stumbled upon an amazing fabric store called City Craft, and suddenly I was inspired to sew. So I bought some fabric and decided my first project would be 20 placemats for an upcoming Christmas dinner party I was hosting with a few friends. My mom was thrilled - her daughter was finally interested in sewing! - so she taught me over the Thanksgiving Holiday how to sew on her featherweight, and I haven't looked back since. Mom knows best right? xoxo
Concentrating extra hard on keeping my lines straight. . .
Operation placemat success!
