In April I had the chance to attend Sewtopia in Chicago with my mom.
We arrived a day early to explore the sites of the city. One of my favorites museums to visit is the modern wing at the Art Institute of Chicago. The building itself is beautiful and the exhibits are always intriguing.
We met a great group of fellow quilters from all over the country and had a fabulous time learning how to sew curves from Latifah Saafir's Molehill Quilt Pattern. I took my time picking out the colors for the pattern and can't wait to finish this quilt sometime in the near future.
The next day we learned all about y seams from Rita Hodge of Red Pepper Quilts.
The last day I had a chance to go for a run along the lake, followed by brunch with friends at The Gage.
The next Sewtopia will be in Atlanta. I'd highly recommend it if you have the chance to attend!
